Allyson Felix
Allyson Nicole Felix was born November 18 of 1985 in Los Angeles. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained Minister of the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. Her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix realized early on that she had an aptitude in running while attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. At her first attempt and placing within the top two places at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships for the 200 meters in a mere 10 weeks. Felix completed high school and subsequently signed an official contract for Adidas. In the year 2004, she enrolled in her first year at the University of Southern California, in the area of elementary education. A year later Felix earned her very first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece breaking an all-time junior world record taking 200 metres at 22.18 seconds. The youngest winner of the 200 meter during the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005. She was able to defend her record once again in 2007, by beating long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix consistently placed within the top three in all of her races in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
